Finding Accurate Value for Irreplaceable FXR
Now show me where they set up for a totally different scheme on 2 cars, that wasn't available on any other models.
We are talkin' assembly lines. Where interruptions for set-ups cost moola.
Not that any of this is really relevant, since I am simply curios as to what this "magical" paint set looks like. I'm already aware that it adds no value to the bike.
1998
Firebird Convertibles 704 (V6)
Formula Convertible not available (Corvette V8)
Formula WS6 Convertible 2 (Corvette V8 with Ram Air and Suspension package)
Trans Am Convertible 1,074 (Corvette V8)
Trans Am WS6 Convertible 339 (Corvette V8 with Ram Air and Suspension package)
I see his one of two paint set as a added value to a buyer that can appreciate it instead of sh--ing on it. Supply & demand 1 of 2.
I believe his paint set would look like the previous photo that I posted, with the colors flipped on the fenders like Harley Davidson has been doing between different models for quite awhile.
.
It is possible that they had that color available on other models, and only made 2 in his model. (As with your car example). But I can't find one on the internet.
Google can't find me one yellow 1990 Harley, that wasn't painted by the owner.
The last owner had to give it away with the bike.
Ride it for Christsake! Or don't ride it. If it's so fricking valuable, insure it for $1.5 Million and put it in a museum. Is this your life savings? I can't imagine worrying so much about something so meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Not so easy to find "that guy" when you are trying to sell.
If a guys budget has him shopping for a bike that old, he ain't gonna have money for the premium paintset.

Apparently you didn't click on the link for that bike I posted previously, here it is copied and pasted with the link below.
"If a guys budget has him shopping for a bike that old"......How about looking at this without a narrow minded point of view. A collector with deep pockets could be looking for a unique bike, or it could be someones dream bike that couldn't afford it when it was new and now has the funds.

Face it, the economy sucks. No one is looking for an investment in semi-precious gems. Personally, I don't think it adds more than maybe $500 to the going price.

Hard to say without a picture. I suppose having an extra set of bare sheet metal ought to be worth something on ebay.
