Heard a full system on a mates 2002 softail for the first time the other day.
No baffles.
All I can say is HOLY CRAP they're LOUD!!! Louder than I ever expected. Sounded great but no way I could ride with that level of volume. Just TOO loud for me.
I read somewhere that with the way the Thunderheader's rear header pipe curls around the nosecone, that stuff inside the cone can get really hot such as your ignition sensor, and can prematurely fail.
Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

Never heard that one. I think its designed to prevent reversion.
I'm getting hard of hearing so I like mine cause I can hear the sound of my bike when I'm riding down the road with no problem. I think it's a bigger safety item then reflectors.
