so, i been thinkin about getting a lined pair of jeans for riding in colder weather. i'm not so much worried about wet cause will do everything in my power to avoid the rain. my main concern is the wind. yeah i know, get some chaps but i don't think i ready to go there yet (besides, i am sure i will look like a complete idiot in them, but eventually).
I have a flannel lined pair and a thinsulate lined pair of jeans . Bought one and liked it so much I got another .
( I lied , actually the wife got them for me I can't hardly stand to clothes shop . )
bought both at the local Gander mountain , the thinsulate is a wrangler and the flannel is a Dickies .
Both are nice and toasty for Illinois winters . The thinsulate Wranglers are by far the warmest but also much heavier . You may be using suspenders with them.
I just got them last winter and I havn't had a chance to try them out on the bike yet but I will shortly .
I just picked up a pair of flannel lined jeans from LL Bean. Something to wear
riding on the weekends when it's not too cold. I also just picked up a pair of
the Firstgear HT II overpants for commuting to work. I haven't worn them
yet, but they seem to be good quality. These are insulated and waterproof.
ICON Motorclothes make an awesome set. They are called barrier pants. Fleece lined with a windbreaker material in between. Also they are gussetted in the crotch which makes ridin real comfy!
I use flannel lined jeans and chaps when it's good and cold. Those Icon Barrier pants look like they are worth a look. Gloves are a real problem for me. I can't find a pair that are warm, windproof, that are not too thick. HD windshielders are pretty good. Maybe with a liner of some kind.

I have flannel lined Carhartts for the sorta cold rides, fleece lined Wranglers for the cold rides, and insulated bibs for the really cold rides. The flannel Carhartts are my favorite but they won't be enough for less than 50 degrees if you'll be on the bike for any length of time.
