When I was in flight school we had some guys get into vertigo real bad for no reason at all while trying to learn to hover. First they were on dramamine patches and pills but for a couple that didn't fix it. I remember one guy who they sent to the Naval hospital and they put him in some sort of centrifuge disorientation machine and spun him around, made him puke alot. but eventually he stopped and got used to it, flies Kiowas now i believe.

I too have menears disease. It is caused by fluid build-up in the inner ear. I have had 13 operations on my ears, from scarlet fever when I was a kid. I have to ride with a cotton ball in my ear now so I don't get dizzy. One way to try to help with the dizziness, lay off the salt intake, ask the doc for a water pill. You may have to stop at every fire hydrant, but it may help.

If you haven't been yet ask your doc for a prescription to physical therapy for vestibular retraining. Look for someone who knows how to do an eplys meneuver. Not always successful but worth a try.

I have had 2 episodes of Vertigo 10 years apart. Each one as bad and the other. I hope I never get another episode of it not sure I could stand it. Meds do help I hope you get better soon. You'll know when it is time to get back on the bike. Just be glad you can walk upright when at my worst I couldn't even do that.

I too was diagnosed with Menear's disease...took meclizine and promethezine for years. Doc attributed it to the onset of Diabetes and the weight gain. Lost the weight, ate better, vertigo and meds went away. My bp med also has a diuretic in it which helps also. Good luck bud. Been there...

Dude. Try making an appointment with a physical therapist that specializes in balance and proprioception deficits within the vestibular system. This may be a case of vestibular problems caused by your inner ear. Sounds like a crock, but I have attended courses on this since I am a physical therapist. This may be your key to getting this fixed.

Default Thank you for the kind words and advice

I have been to the "best" ENT on the east coast, allergist, sinus dr, 2 neurologist, chiropractor, neuropsychiatric dr, to Johns Hopkins 3 times. They have taken MRI's, Cat Scans, spinal taps and nobody can come up with a physical cause.

Now they tell me it's all in my "head", no ****. They are trying to say I have depression and are sending me to a shrink, he put me on Zoloft and man did it really get bad. That stuff is bad news.

Depression??? Why would I be depressed great wife, nice Dyna, 95 Vette, and all the toys you could ask for. Retired, no worries, not wealthy, but comfortable on my pension. Why would I be depressed?

Feeling a little better today, just a little dizzy. Finally got off that Zoloft. Supposed to get up into the 60's this week and I'm going to get that bike out, dizzy or not.
