Default Really confused

i bought an used 02 fxd last year with 2689 miles on it. The wife and I went to Lake George Ny last yr for americade and i started having a problem with the bike. There was a dyno trailer there and i went to talk to the guy about the problem. He runs the bike on the dyno. it show the bike wasnt running at top preformance, so he changed the main jet (it was too big) and cut 9 in of baffles out (too much back pressure). bike has been running descent. Last night i find out form the guy that owns a custom bike shop where my buddy had some mean motor work done that the s&s carb is way to small for the motor and the v&h short shots are also to small. so needless to say i am REALLY confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looking for advice!!!!

If you are happy with the way your bike is running, then it sounds like that guy has a bad case of "junk yours & buy mine" In other words, he is just trying to sell parts IMHO.

Don't be. There is always going to be bigger,badder,meaner...etc.

If your happy with it the way it is leave it alone.

I thought that too but there is an older guy that retired from zippers and works part time this guy and he said the same thing.

i understand what you all are saying. i just want the best performance out of my bike and that isnt going to cause me any major motor damage down the road.

If the dyno guy changed the jet to a smaller one how can the other guy say that you need a bigger carb ?

If the bike is running good then it sounds like someone is trying to drum up some business.

the other problem is i get the worse gas milage also. i am lucky if i get 110 miles out of a full tank
