Default Amish benefit ride results with a few pics

Left out about 7:30am this morning for the hour and a half ride. Temps were around 38. Just a tad chilly. Got to Smaltz's HD and there were a ton of bikes. The whole ride was police escorted from Smaltz's to Dutch Wonderland where the money was presented to the Lancaster town leaders.

Final toll was around 950 bikes and just under $35k raised. Not bad with just a week of planning and such cold temps. Proof positive bikers do care.

UPDATE!!!!

This was posted on Smaltz's HD site. Apparently the numbers are better than they thought yesterday. Nearly 3000 people attended (I think that is riders and non-riders too) and over $40K was raised.

Very nice. Great benefit. Too bad so many young kids had to perish though.

Was hoping to see some horse and buggies in those pics.

Good outcome. Always good to show support to those that may not feel that we do.

OMG, 950 bikes and 35K????

YOU GUYS ROCK.

Wish I was able to attend.

WOW, I still can't believe how many people and how much money was raised.

Very impressive, went to a good cause.

You can take pictures of them, They have tourist areas and places open to tourists and such. They just dont take pictures themselves. Wish I could have ridden this one with you!

Oh, I am so mad, I wish DH and I knew about this ride.. We did the march of dimes ride yesterday in harford co, MD, that was alot of fun,, about 2500 bikes, I decided that since I am still a newbie to ride with him instead of on my own bike, but when we got there I wanted my bike so bad, but is was a good choice for me as I am still alittle timid in traffic.. We would of definatly done this ride, we live about 15 miles from where the horrible tradgedy happened....is there a site that lists upcoming rides for the pa, de, md area?? It looks like you had a great turnout for sure...

It is not illigal, but due to their beliefs it is respectfull not too. Of course during these events the MSM didn't seem to care.
