I thought the narrow glide front end looked ok. When I recently went with the Ohlins fork cartridges, I needed to switch to a 49mm mid glide, which I have to admit I like much more.
I sold off the lower forks and tubes, but have some nice 39mm Custom Cycle Engineering chrome triple trees and fork brace if anyone is looking to change up their front end.
I think until the release of the black and white two tone Softail Deluxe, the silver and black '79 Low Rider with the Narrow Glide front end was the best looking motorcycle the MOCO has ever produced. I guess we all have different tastes, so they make different bikes. I also think for the guys who build true bobbers, the only front end that works is a narrow glide (maybe a springer).
I kind of like the narrow glide. My first Harley was a '79 Low Rider. Wish they still made it. 80" Shovel Head, Sportster Front End, Nice color scheme . . .
I've been around bikes for a long time now and this is the first time I've ever heard the term "Narrow Glide". I even looked for the terminology in the "Complete Harley- Davidson Book of Knowledge" and came up with exactly nothing, zilch, zero, goose eggs. Must be an Asian sort of thing.
