Well, to clear some things up for you guys, this friend is more of a brother to me than my own blood brother is, and his dads shovel is in the garage at home as well, so I will still be riding. And evidently he was following a truck through a traffic light and the driver of the truck decided at last minute not to go through on yellow, buddy grabbed a handful of front brake and locked the front tire up, down goes bike. He is already on his way to making it good and has made it clear that custom paint, and billet controls and what not aren't cheap, without seeing it as of now I'd say he's looking at around a 3k dollar joyride........
I had let a "buddy" of mine use my bike while I was out of town. When I came home, my bike was still not home and when I pulled into the local convenience store, my bike pulled out of the lot and it was not my buddy on the bike.
I promptly got the bike back and never again let anybody ride any of my bikes again.
I used to let my buds ride my bike when I had metrics, fubared 1 of them and major damage to another, I have only let one bud take out one of my harleys and I was riding with him on his road king. outside of that nobody rides my bike. Some of my friends have gotten their noses outta joint cause I wouldn't let them take it for a spin, I just tell them if you want to ride a harley, go to the dealer and test drive one.
As much as I like my bud, that is one thing you don't do is ask to ride your bike.... My bud has a hopped up duce and he tells me to ride it and I have yet to do so. It is just one of those things I guess......................
Thanks for the replies, gonna have to wait to kill him tho, will be home Friday and gotta get my bike fixed before I start trying to figure on how and where to dispose of the body.......
no insurance? i wouldn't ride/drive anything over $2500 or so that wasn't insured. mine or not. i would not want to put out that kind of cash to replace it.

My friend and I swap bikes all the time. But I trust he would make good. **** can happen to anyone. I know if I messed any bike up I would sure as hell make it right.
" ....this friend is more of a brother to me than my own blood brother is..."
in which case you've probably already gotten over the initial shock/annoyance and are ready to move on. Not tryin' to preach, just saying that kind of relationship is worth its weight in gold, and will pay you back in dividends that far exceed the damages imposed on your ride. Having said that, I hope the repairs come out good - that FXR is a great bike and should be kept out on the road.
One last note: the FXR frame is pretty robust, but it might not hurt to give it a good look-see to make sure nothing is tweaked. Hope it all works out for you.
