Well think enough has been said, but will just add my only complaint with Zanotti's is takes a while to receive some items not in stock, otherwise they are batting 1.000 with me ..
if the dealer rendered the part unreturnable, i would be looking at them to make it good.. not Zanottis..
After he ordered it online and brings it to his dealer to install? Seems ballsy, IMO if you need the dealer to install something then.........buy it there, if you can install it yourself then by all means save the 20%.
were it me, I would put it up for sale ASAP. Someone, somewhere needs it.
it might even be easier to eat the restocking charge though. I don't think I would pay more than 75% of the sale price, especially if the warranty was void.
I learned the hard way on a similar deal. I pay extra now & get the parts and work done at one place. No excuses if the job is not right then.
the main thing is, get it fixed right, and now. Riding season is almost here and it's not worth fretting over a mistake. get on the road and enjoy your ride.
that's why you bought it.

Agreed. I'm thinking that "a different module" means one the installing dealer sold, not one bought off the internet and brought in from the outside. My response would have been, "you bought it from Zanotti, let them install it".

I purchased a Screaming Eagle Street Performance Tuner VCI module. I took it to my dealer to have my bike dyno. My dealer called and said it was the wrong one.
The dealer I go to said the other sc module would be better and that I would see better performance out of the other module.
So if I get this right...........You buy from one outfit and take it to another for install.
He/they say you should have bought a "BETTER" one.
Regardless of all the who-ha, you got buyers remorse and are trying to get something else "BETTER" because you bought one that was not good enough according to the ones doing the install. Oh! And you did not buy it from them.
Sounds like you are getting exactly what you asked for.......

Why? My dealer will install your parts...they don't care just as long as they are the correct parts. But if you show up with the wrong part well that is your fault. I buy my tires, wheels and all kinds of stuff on line and my dealer installs it. They don't care. I bought my Stage 1 parts and SERt from Ebay & Zanottis and my dealer did my dyno tune. No problem. They love the business. But I have bought 2 new bikes from them as well and I will always shop there first for a new bike.
Thats why I do my own work. That way I know care and diligence will be utilized and when its time to get angry at someone I look in the mirror and theres the problem...
