7 years is excellent for any battery, most don't get close...

I got four years outta the original battery, but since then it's pretty much been every two years....Then I'm on borrowed time. One day ya go out for a putt, everything is fine. Stop at the local watering hole.....That's it. Dead. You can't even jump 'em when they short out internally.

That is frigging incredible! 7 years is unthinkable for any battery, factory or aftermarket.

However if you would like to get a little more than 7 years do what I do, I put an Odyssey battery in my last 2 bikes and have had no problems. I live in Wisconsin and leave the battery in the bike through winter and I don't own a battery tender. These batterys have a 10 year warranty and in recent years have come down in price. My first battery was $150.00 and the one in my present bike was $75.00. These are my only option for replacement batterys.

My 99 FXD has the original battery, and its still going strong. I will be changing it very soon though, just for piece of mind. Any suggestions on brands that are good, or the ones to stay away from?
