i Just had an oil change at a local shop for my 2010 softail classic and when i ran it on the highway for two days i noticed it made a weird sound like my air filter needed to be changed so i went to change the filter and noticed oil behind the filter, i also noticed oil ran down the oil tank under my dipstick, my question is did i damage anything on the bike like blow my seals and is my bike going to need costly repair? i think the kid that did the oil change put in too much oil, can this be fixed? and is my bike going to be ok?

I used to add 3.5 qts, run it till warm, then top off to Full, but like many others I started seeing more oil in my breather. Now I just put in 3.5 qts and call it good. That puts it anywhere from 1/2-3/4 to the full line and blowby isn't an issue.
I would recommend you go with 3.5 qts.

Your bike and its seals are fine- just too much oil was added. Use a hose or turkey baster to remove about a half qt of oil from the tank. If you can't do it this way, pull the drain plug for a second or two & drain out a half qt. Clean out the excess oil from the breather & you'll be good to go.
