Default soft tie downs

i want to get 2 of these SOFT tie downs that go around your handle bars when you transport your bike with ratchet or pull tight nylon ties..where can i get this item..not sure how better to explain this..the part that wraps around handle bars is not nylon but covered in soft material to prevent damage to chrome..thanks

I got mine from my local Harley dealer, but I wouldn't recommend putting them around your handlebars. Harley handlebars tend to move when you tighten these around them. Ask me how I know....

why not take the existing nylon tie down with the hook on one end, pull the hook 2 feet over the handlebar, down to the other end, now wrap the tie down around the hook 4 times and pull down tight. now you have a large loop around your handlebars and nothing touching them except tie down strap. tighten the ratchet and your good to go. This is how I tie down my front end when I put it in the back of my truck.

Cycle Gear, and most dirt bike shops have them. I've seen them in Harbor Freight as well.
X3 has a good point. Many handlebars are mounted with rubber dampeners in the risers/trees.
You can damage, or even split, them if you put too much tension on them when tightening the straps.
I use the soft ties front and rear on the few times that I trailer my bike.

I have limited experience with this but...
I did do the tie a loop in the strap and hook it to itself and it works fine.
I wanted some of the straps and had seen some at Walmart but did not get them.
I went back later for them and they were gone. I looked other places as well.
I ended up getting one of three different models from the local HD store.

I've seen them in some auto parts stores, you might check around.

The only way I know to transport a motorcycle is to ride it unless it has a flat tire. The only time I use soft ties is when I am putting one on the lift to work on it.

Sometimes you just can't ride... It hurts, but I'm about to trailer mine across country when I move from Cali to Arkansas in 2 weeks.

I use these from Home Depot with built in soft ties. 1000 lb working load limit each and you get 2 for just over $20

x4, find somewhere around the triple tree/fork clamps or the frame to tie it down. Using the handlebars just makes them all crooked, possibly bent and messes up the risers and bushings.
