Triple tree in the front and the swingarm or frame in the rear, never the bars or the tire and rim. I just wrap soft shop towels where I'm going to put the strap, never had any damage.

I always kept a new pair in my saddle bag just incase I had to get a tow. Dont want no one strapping my bike down with chains. When you are in the middle of no where you cant expect your tow to have them. Doesnt take any room.

I got mine at the dealer, any dealer would work. They are mainly used for dirt bikes. I like using the straps when I load the bike myself, it is easy to hook the strap into it while your on the bike. Place a 4x4 or 6x6 under your frame, one that fits, ratchet down tight to the block of wood, this way here it will not blow the seals in the forks. Then all you need is one in the back to keep the *** end from walking on you.

Tons of them on Ebay also. just put in 'soft tiedowns'. As a suggestion, buy several pairs while your getting them. When I do trailer my bibke, I use two sets of tiedowns on the handlebars going to four seperate eye hooks. Ya never know when a strap might break of somethnig. Pretty cheap insurance against something like this happening
