Old folks Harleys and Young folks Harleys...
? I also realize that all my other harley rider friends think it is theUGLIEST step- sister, and that is okay- it's now more unique than most choppers!I can putt around with these older guys on the Dyna's and have fun too with one of my 3 kids on the back taking my time and the enjoying the scenery, no hurries- trying not to scrape pegs and pipes.
I guess I have a split personality because I have a whole second set of friends that I ride with also on their nice handling Ducatis, BMW's, Guzzi's,...and have a great time with them too carving up the mtn roads of Oregon. Admittingly, the Buell would be an absolute bore in the flat, straight mid-west- or in urban trafficI'm sure. Also, compared to the sitting position of the Softail and even my last 3 Dynas, the Buell is actually better on long rides...less back and leg fatigue not sitting in that parachute position we all do. One has to put on some miles to appreciate the "standard" riding position. I don't ride behind a fairing on any of my H-D's, but I'm told if you ever did, you would never take it off! I do wish more sub 50 age group rode harley's in So. Oregon like they did when I was a kid in the 60's and my young father had his panhead bobber...wrenching on their home made custom H-D's.
If peer pressure sways you at all, don't buy anH-D poweredBuell.Like a Vincent, they will not be appreciated for decades.
Next bike: when harley unveils a nicely faired Touring mount V-Rod that leans!
