Default horsepower

I am looking to add more HP to my 2010 Street Glide, it has been upgraded from the stock 96ci to 103ci with S&S 570 easy start cams, V&H pro pipe, PC V and Auto tune kit. However, it only putting out 83hp and 98fpt. So what else can I do to get more beside upgrade the motor again?

Give it some less restrictive air intake. Change the front sprocket from a 32 tooth that the latest Dynas have on them to a 30 tooth. You can add teeth to the rear sprocket as well.

We discuss horsepower all the time, the lack of it... -L- You need to do some headwork and shave the sucker to get the compression up to 11:1. Bigger valves at that point are a plus.

Remember that a gasoline engine is just a fancy air pump. The more air you get through it, the more horsepower you have. Numbers on my 96 are 92/105. If you go much higher than that, your mileage will start to really suffer. Even at Stage 3, my bike never gets better than 35 mpg.

Buy a Sportster and then do a stage 3 to it....You can get well over 100hp and 100lbs of torque out of the right build and still get almost 50mpg. lol Sorry, had to say it. lol

But as said above, some good head and valve work should up the horsepower without redoing the build. Maybe some cams to match the headwork also.

Thinking U tuning is off, or the dyno was one that puts out low #'s..

The average 103BB kit with cams usually puts out 105/85,, give or take a couple #'s either way..

The average 96 with stg1 and cams is 93/81, again give or take a couple.

U'll see others in here give #'s that seem really high, Thats because they are. And you'll see some that are low...

Theres soooo many ways to inflate them, I am not going into that here, But U can take the same bike and get 10-15% higher #'s just by going to certain tuners. Not just because There that much better, sometimes they have what we call a HAPPY dyno.. (one that gives a lot higher numbers)

There are some great tuners that can tune the motor to its peak, but It'll usually take at least 6-8 hrs on the dyno and 40-60 runs or more to get the last 3-8 #'s of tq and HP out of them.
Most dont spend that much time cause it would cost owners a wad of $$$ just in dyno time.

What U want is TQ not just HP.. TQ is what the HD motor needs and the HP will come with it.

There's a dyno thread in both the Softail and Touring sections. There both Sticky threads at the top of page one In both sections.. Just look through them and U'll see.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...r-baggers.html

I suppose U did change the A/C, the next mod after U get the auto tune corrected and set up better, of course is would be to do the heads to flow the air better.
Then U could/should be around 115 tq / 100HP or so, give or take some.

In a build with really High Comp, U have to be really careful to not make a ping monster, Most still want a good street ridable bike.

Don't just do any P&P job,, U'll need to talk to the people and let them know what Ur wanting and what's been done so far..
they need to know where U want the TQ,, LOW-MID or MID-HIGH.. plus what pistons, FT's or Dome, what cams ETC..

All has to work together to make a solid build and dependable motor...

dont just throw a bunch of HP parts in there and expect them to work together,,, Its got to be planed.

And I thought your question originally was how to get a little more out of it without another re-build.
