Default To you guys with Black Pipes

I just got a set of black ceramic coated pipes. How do you guys keep em fresh looking and not a faded charcoal color as they age. What keeps em look'n dark black? Any Tips?

I can't speak for anyone else but a little touch up with $4.00 a can BBQ flat black from time to time works for me. Stock pipes, with the chrome "dumbed down" and painted with flat black Rustoleum BBQ, 2 cans, $10.00 black pipes and shields.

Don't know about the newer pipes but when I was running the black chrome yrs ago a good wipe with WD-40 when cold helped but they are real prone to showing every little scratch and scuff and it didn't take much to get those . Good luck .

There's a product called pig spit or swine juice or something along those lines that is made for this purpose. I understand that it is sold at HD dealers.

I gave the guys a S100 a call and asked about their engine brightener on pipes. They said it should work, but didn't know for sure. They suggested I try it in inconspicuous spot...haven't had the ***** to try it yet.

I can't say for sure because I'm not running black pipes, but I know two who do....One is a factory black and his has faded to a grayish black in less than a year. The other is ceramic coated and looks perfect after a year. I'm told that ceramic doesn't fade or fades very little over time? Again, just what I was told. The Jet Hot site talks a little about it.
