Default Engine TOO HOT!?

hello all i finally got the cycle shack slip-ons put on and the bike seems to be running hotter than with the stock mufflers..for example i started it cold and it ran for possibly one min and the heat shields and mufflers were WAY too hot to touch and after riding for a while i can feel the heat in the seat which i never have before, what can i do to cool it down?...help please??

bike is a '05 883L

I really doubt that a simple muffler swap would make that big a difference. Maybe you're expecting it to be lean and hot, and looking for it?

I don't know how long you've had a Harley, but in my experience I notice the heat coming from underneath a lot more in warm weather than I do in cold weather. That kind of pisses me off. I wish it was the other way around, but it's not.

According to V&H it does. Especially when they are inventing excuses as to why the finish on their black pipes only last 13 day before it falls off. Don't believe me? I have the emails and pics to prove it.

FWIW, I put cycle shack slip ons on my 09 883, did not remap, and I have not noticed any increase in temp.

Perhaps you have a intake leak or exhaust leak that developed at the same time and it is running leaner because of that?

I kinda had the same thing the other day when it was 86* here. Bike seemed awful hot. Maybe my heater is stuck on.
