+1 on the Outlaw AX-300X0. The only one they had in stock when I ordered mine was the 30020 in a burgundy color. I always prefer black, but this one is so dark, I don't mind.
I've had probably five helmets in the quest for a small, lightweight DOT. This one is the best that I've found. Size and weight-wise, it falls in between my novelty carbon fiber and my HCI-100. I'm very happy with it.
Vega half-helmet naked. The moment I tried one on at the local H-D dealership, I was hooked. It fit beautifully, was nice and light and was nice and 'small'...no mushroom head. I waited a month to get it and when I finally had the scratch they'd already sold my size. I had them order me one. I still can't believe how well it fits. YMMV of course, but I couldn't be happier. It cost $80, but they had a thing going on that month where they gave you $25 for any old helmet you brought in when buying a new helmet or $50 for any old H-D helmet when buying a new helmet, so it was a good price.
Next time I'm planning on being on the rainy side of the Whites, I'll drop you a PM.
Welcome to the 'hood.
Doc
Thanks, Doc! Yes, PM me. It'd be great to get together for a ride or something.
I was stationed at Ft Lewis for my last assignment 20 years ago and loved the area. (We used to go to the range in Yakima quite a bit. Don't know if that is near where you are.) So I stayed and went to UW. Always planned to move back. But, man oh man! It has become a megalopolis!!
Still glad to be out here. Edmonds is a nice little pocket of calm in the middle of all this, but it takes less than 10 minutes to ride form one side to the other, though we do like it. But I do miss cruising at 75 on traffic-less roads
I bought one of HD half helmets and its very comfortable, you do need to wear ear plugs though, I have found the wind noise puts a tremendous strain on your hearing....
That's the key to the "mushroom look"....how thick the liner is. Wish they would all give those specs. So many of them claim to be the "smallest" or "lowest profile" DOT helmet.
