Here are some pics. The view of the front is where he said I pushed him into the large van. You can see the peg that hit his bumper. Doesn't look like I hit him that hard.
You can see the two scratches, and it busted the catch on the bolt that holds the plastic bumper on. I almost made it past him.

You can see my tire where it got loose. It is a new ME880 with about 250 miles on it. I down shifted, but it was because I was trying to get power back to the wheel after I slowed so much, and gained control of the bike. Also I was trying to have the engine slow me, but I went from 2nd to 1st. Couldn't down shift much lower than that. I know about how the wheel can jump, but I wasn't going over 25 mph, and wasn't hitting a hard curve, etc. A learning experience indeed, but a very scary one. Even at such low speeds. I don't think I could have done it if I was on a bagger. The Dyna is pretty easy to throw around once you get use to it.

Glad you are ok...and ALWAYS listen to "self" when "self" is talking. I've ignored and paid as well.

Glad you are ok. What an a-hole. Even if you had hit him square in the center of his back bumper, you would have to been going pretty fast to knock him into the vehicle in front of him. He is just rying to get a previous damage fixed at your expense.

I am hoping the adjuster will deny that claim on the front. There is no way I did that.

Ask your insurance to run his car through the insurance data base and see if he's claimed the front paint damage before. Might get a surprise.

first...glad you're alright and good job handling the situation as well as you did.

second...like someone else said, even if you hit him dead on at 20, i doubt you'd have budged the car.

third...IF you did and IF you pushed him into a van, his front bumper would be a little worse for the wear.

good luck with everything.

When you got the tire installed, Did the shop explain to you that the first few hundred miles must be ridden with caution? Many riders do not know this but when a tire is new, It has a coating on it which makes it very slippery. Most tires come with a sticker that cautions you to be careful until wear in is complete! The sticker is light adhesive & comes with the tire so that the shop can stick it on your instrument cluster.
When I install new rubber on my sled, I wire wheel the outer tread areas that hold me in a corner. This helps create better grip to the road.
That might have been a factor in your slide. Do some research on this if you need it for legal issues. Glad your o.k. & a lil more road smart without being road kill!
Hatch.
