Where I work, I can't take my cell phone in. I can't leave it with my bike right now, because I have no place to lock it up. All I have is a set of cheesy saddle bags for storage. I was thinking it would be cool to mount a small diamond-plate box to the front bottom of my frame, just above the motor mount area. What I want to ask is if anyone knows if such a lock box already exists, and is sold, or will I have to have it made?
My job tried that crap with me too, until the talk of lawsuits came up because I am a full time single father and if something happens to my son at school, the only way to contact me is through my cell phone. Then the policy became keep it in your pocket and dont let me see you on it.
The box idea would be cool especially if it had a roll type combination lock on it so you could keep a back up key in it. If you fond one mount it low on the frame so you dont block the airflow to the engine.
Not dissing you, But there was a day we did with out cell phones and truth fully would not mind going back to no cell phones. I work is 24-7 plus email.
The school got a hold of parents at work no problem.

the only cell i have is a tracfone.. i haven't used 60 minutes up in 6 months..
the battery goes dead in it before i use the dam thing..
I work at a prison, and cell phones are a big focus for them. There was a dude on death row that had a cell phone smuggled in to him, and he called a senator and harassed him from death row :-) So they don't look too favorably on anyone "accidentally" bringing their phone in through the metal detector. I did work at a call center for a while, and even they were picky about phones. That makes sense to me about the airflow thing.
Speaking of the tracphone, I use a pay per use. We don't have a landline in the house. The phone company rips you off for those. I save a lot of money with the ppu. I like to have the ability to call or text when I want to. I don't have to answer it, so I'm as free as I want to be.
