Default Clutch adjustment question

I'm not sure if this belongs here or in the tech forum but I've learned that general forums seem to get more traffic.

I took my 2010 Road King in yesterday for it's 5000 mile service.

When it went in, the clutch had a litte play in it but was very smooth.

When I got the bike back, they had adjusted the clutch so tight that it almost feels like it sticks in couple spots along it's range of motion.

Is this normal and will it smooth itself out after a little bit of use or should I go back to the dealer and have them re adjust it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Don't know if it will smooth itself out but its not normal. Sounds like its binding.

I would take it right back to the dealer, as it isn't right. You could also look at the ferrule where the cable and hand lever meet to ensure that you have a minimum of about a dimes worth of gap or play at that point. If not try adjusting just the cable itself.

Take it back and ask the service advisor to look at it. If you just let them know you're concerned they should take care of it for you.

Take it back, and while you are there buy the service manual and learn to do it yourself. Think I read here about another poster who had a clutch binding and it turned out the dealer forgot to put fluid back in the primary.........duh!

Do both. Bring it back so the person responsible knows about it and corrects it, hopefully it won't happen to the next customer. And get the service manual so you can deal with a lot of the stuff yourself.

Clutch adjustment's real easy;done at the cable. Not even worth the gas to bring back. There should be some free play in the hand lever. When they installed my GF
's EZ clutch, there was no free play. Buncha dimwits. I fixed it for her in 2 seconds.
