Has anyone ever used one on their bike? In a pinch for money/tools and I found a swing arm jack for 35 bucks. Just need something to pick up the bike so I can change out the rear tire.
A couple of 2x10's screwed together would have been cheaper.
Haven't picked up the jack yet. Don't mean to sound ignorant, but can't really picture how the 2x10's would go together. I am willing to try anything though. I have plenty of scrap laying around.
cut two sections about 24" long and screw them together - face to face
Cut another about 36" long and screw that to the ends of the first two - this will be the lever and the support. They should form an L shape. You can just fit this behind the oil pan guard on the lower frame or in front of it to left the front wheel. Crude but cheap and it works. See this link and you'll get the idea.
Quite clever... do you think it would hold long enough for me to get the wheel off/tire mounted and then put back together? I might just have to give it a go. I'll let you know the out come.
