Fixed Cruise Control...Finally
Actually there was two things wrong I did/didn't do with the cruise. First, I didn't disconnect the battery when changing out the bars. This caused four fault errors within the computer. I got two of them fixed/reset by talking with the lead mechanic over the phone but the other two were persistant and wouldn't reset. When I got the bike up to Snake HD they found a broken wire between the green connector (inside the handlebars) and the connector inside the headlight. The mechanic said I could've done this when I pulled the wires out of the handlebars. Once he replaced the wires everything was just fine and I've got cruise back. All the faults inside the computer have reset and the engine light is out.
The mechanic said that they get this problem all the time. People change their handlebars and end up coming to the dealer to get it fixed when they screw up like I did. He said the broken wire problem could've been avoided if I had been a little more careful when pulling the wire harness out of the bars. And, he said the other faults wouldn't have happened if I would've disconnected the battery. Lesson learned there!
Anyhow, I made good contact with the Snake HD shop and will probably use them for maintenance from now on. They were all rewarded with premium cigars (along with a hefty debit card transaction) for their labors. I'm just glad to have my bike back to running as it was designed to. I bought some stuff while I was up there and have 'em installed on the bike to purty it up and make it mine.
Thanks to everyone who helped out here on this forum. A couple of your suggestions probably would've worked it the problem was'nt twofold. Thanks again.
