The open K&N with the chrome cover looks great, but I have heard that runnin' open like that can actually DECREASE your airflow because of the different types of eddy currents that are set up around the filter at speed & that supposedly sucks a lot of air out the back of the filter. Not sure if it's true or not, but check out my solution.....
Love the DX's... Good to see another one getting modded up. First off, get those bars down lol... Some drags on medium risers, or a set of T-bars would look great.
I know alot of guys dig the black, but ive seen some sweet looking pearl white Dx's, i say leave it. The textured black, and pearl white mixed with a little chrome has quite alot of potential.
What pipe is that? Besides the A/C and pipe are there any other mods?

Thanks guys. As for the pipes, they were on the bike when I picked it up. I am looking at switching out to a set of short shots and considering tape (knowing that it will ruin the pipes in the long run).
I am torn about the bars. Was considering going to the drag but like the relaxed mini's. Have to see, might be the winter project.
I asked a service tech about the open filter before going ewith it as I heard the same thing. He told me that the air flow issue has been shown to increase at times due to more exposed surface area. But, like the look on yours Dickey. might have to consider.
welcome to the h.d. piggy bank, thats prob cheapest thing u will do, and don`t listen to these guys with black , black is so common its boring nice color above poster is right alot of chrome on that white will kick ***
