Those of you who are using the Harley and Gerbing gear, do you have to have the temperature controller to use it?

I don't see a termperature controller on the Harley website, but I do see it on the Gerbing site. [&:]
Yes, I use the dual controller. One **** controls the gloves, the other controls the jacket liner.

Here it is on the HD site:

Question of quality & watts. Your Gerbing only pulls 77 watts vs 100 against the Warmnsafe jacket. You cannot turn the Warmnsafe all the way on and stay in it. It is that warm! Lot of people have major complaints with customer service at Gerbing. Take a gerbing out on a 30 degree day with only a t-shirt under it and you'll freeze. GL with whatever you buy.
Did you even read my first post? I had only a t-shirt under my Gerbring and a leather jacket over it. I was going 60 mph in 30 degree weather. I had it on half power and did not freeze. I was very warm. If I had it at full power I would have been sweating!

As to customer service, I cannot comment as the item is new to me.

But like I said, if mine fails me, I will consider your suggestion. Until then I am a satisfied customer.

Cosmic...With all that gear on you really did not need a heated jacket. Nice to be warm!
Beg to differ. I did not turn the gear on for a few miles while the bike warmed up and I definitely felt the cold coming through. I do not think I would have been comfortable ten minutes into the ride.

Good Post! Got some good information about riding in cold weather.

I think I would worry about hitting a patch of ice once the temp got below freezing. Like going over a bridge or overpass. You can be on your butt before you know it.
