Hey guys...Drove my 2011 Harley Street Bob to work the first time. I work at a public building that lots of people use. LIBRARY! You guessed it. So this library is on the not so good side of town...I only rode it today because I have only been riding a month and I need to ride it everyday for good practice...I am only working 4 hours. I parked it right in the front of one of our work windows, but I am in a different dept. I told my co-workers and they said they would have a looksie every now and then. It is on the first row of parking spots outside the building.
Anyways guys. When you first got your brand new bike or even first bike you ever owned...How did you cope leaving where people could scratch it up knock it down, or any other **** these idiots would come up with it.
Also has a bird ever pooped on your bike? Anyways guys tell me your stories. Maybe it will calm my nerves.
Currently bike is in a front parking spot in 1st gear and the fork is locked to the left...So yeah hopefully it will be all good.
Yea mine is insured. If it gets messed up then it gets a make over. If it gets jacked means a new project bike. I still worry a little, but you can't fix the stupid that's out there and something is going to happen small or large and I'd rather not stress about it.
Thanks guys...Plus it is Sunday. Just went to look out the window and it is still there. Once I start adding some more mods then they will really think I am some hardcore bike dude! Hopefully they will think I am SOA. LOL!
The funny thing that I've notice with people walking around bikes is that the "thugs" or whoever you stereo type as "don't give F%^$" people are the most careful while checking out the bikes. Other fellow riders are the worst, especially when they unzip their jacket and let zipper bounce off your tank, mirrors or even think they are allowed to sit on your bike without asking. I haven't had this happen to my bike....yet, that I know of anyways, but I've seen it and read about it.

Here's the story; if you're that worried about birds shitting on it, or it getting scratched or dinged, keep it in the garage. Never ride it, just take it out once a month and polish it up. And in a couple of years you'll have that classic "garage queen" we all see for sale on craigslist, the one that's low mileage and never been ridden in the rain.

I remember that episode of SOA! Freaking funny. Thanks guys...for the info...I am definately looking forward to some bird ****...LOL! I know what you mean though. I do need to get my feet wet in the world of a new motorcycle owner. I guess sometimes with anything new and stuff like that worrying will happen. I am a lot more at ease cause I check on the bike every now and then, plus it has some good Dairyland Motorcycle Insurance, and the best is you guys on this forum and your advice. Good stuff always.
