Mi3NINOS-----hey do you remember hearing about that ...i think she was a state rep from the valley that spoke up for bikers that were being harrassed by various leos and politicians? She openly said if times got hard and she ever had to count on anyone she would rather be with the bikers because she trusted them more than her fellow politicians.--Ive been looking for it for a long time and thought since you seem to be the political biker you might know something about it.
That would be Norma "Da'Lady" Chavez of El Paso. A great advocate for biker rights. We in Texas owe her a lot of our respect. Norma authored more than 50 bills and co sponsored hundreds of others, many of which were biker rights specific. Da'Lady also opened each Legislative Day with proclamations on the Senate and House floors recognizing the various MROs in attendance. I think she rode in a legislator's only club called the Lawmakers MC. I can remember sitting in on several of her "how to talk to a politician sessions". Yes she often repeated that statement, even on the steps of the Texas capitol to kick off Legislative Day (2005?). To my knowledge she is no longer in politics.
Would that have been the Bandidos get together? They usually have one round here bout now. Would explain a lot...not right but could understand it more.
So, I was at this annual event yesterday. Not one cop there or for miles around.
Later that evening, I was home riding my son around on the back of my new 1974 Honda ct 90, no helmet on him ( he's 7, under 18 requires a helmet ), no plate , no foot pegs for little Jack and the local PD sargent stops while driving through the neighborhood. Busted! Where's his helmet? Umm, over there in the garage. Well be careful and have a good day. Yes sir, thank you.
Maine, the way life should be. Cold as hell here, but common sense prevails this far North.
I was at a run in 99 out at the old Papa Deans off of 27. We roled in and there were cops outside everywhere. They brought in a helicopter and it hovered right over the stage, and started kicking sand up with the rotor wash. Sadi enough was enough, we'd already paid, etc, and headed out.
On the way back down the road the cops had pulled over every single biker who was either alone, or in a pack and flying a patch. Thing is, the cops had ski masks on, and they had machine guns. I had a chick on the back, and they just let us roll right on through. Total busts for the day? Two. Some marijuana ( unspecified quantity ) and a spcn bike that didn't have matching numbers.
Feds would show up every run with video cams and the black SUVs. The clubs would warn everyone up front not to be packing or holding, as you never know. Talk about harassment. I don't think they ever made one bust either. Not in 13 years.
Anyone with half a brain knows better than to associate with clubs if they are doing anything at all outside. I don't bother anymore, good cause or not. Prefer to stay off the radar.

No it wasn't. But to address all the who, what, where questions about it, I purposely left those details out because even tho it was an open to the public event, I don't feel its my place to bring the clubs name into it.
That includes the private messages asking for this info. No offense to anyone meant, but fact is I don't know you and as stated above, it ain't my place.

I can respect and appreciate your position. However, the only public rally last weekend in Texas, by a MC, at a public park, had a permit for alcohol consumption. Just puzzles me why they would search for something granted under a paid permit. I wont press it further. We'll have them address it the next SA CoC on 8/20 Thanks for the heads up.

You know this how?
Uhhhhh cause they used to put up flyers at the local bike shops in the past for their shinding that was open to the public. Havn't seen one lately so I don't know if they even still have it. And why so secretive, I am sure they know their history with the law and would not be surprised to see them show up. Like I said it ain't right but sure would explain a lot.....
