Got stopped at a MC checkpoint..
I've never been stopped at a *Motorcycle* only checkpoint and I attend Sturgis,Daytona,Biketoberfest(also in Fla.)Laconia,Laughlin and Myrtle Beach yearly. There are also many rallys here in the CT and surrouinding states area but I've never encountered or gone thru a MC only checkpoint.
I've been stopped by the cops many many times because of what I ride & who I ride with-but thats another topic I wont discuss here.
I can see the DWI checkpoints(I dont drink so I dont give a Fukk)
But Face it.....if you ride a motorcycle you'll be stopped by overzealous schmuck cops often enough to know that they look at what you look like, who you are riding with-and if you might present the opportunity to get a summons(they gotta "make their numbers"-give out a certain amount of movers to appease the Sgt. and others in the chain of command)They profile all bikers-it doesnt bother me at all-I'm 100% legal.
All the cop lovers here as well as cops will scowl & rant & villify ME at my written response and endorse the "job"(and I dont give a shitt) but my Sister is a State Police Lieutenant and she laughs at the way many of her fellow officers do their so-called job.She says alot of em are punks

Going around w/their face buried in the V&T book and looking to stop any "outlaw" types(which is common and all a part of riding).I'm not afraid of em-nor do I grovel if they stop me.Patience & a smile burns their asses.
I dont let being stopped rattle me(I've gotten about 15 "illegal exhaust" summonses over the past several years) and about 20 No helmet tickets in NY and other **** States(again I dont give a FUKK) and the MC checkpoints are just a minor annoyance. They stop you-see your documents(Unt Show Me zee Paperz Schveinhunt) and you go on your way.FUKK em....I dont let cops ruin my day w/their dumbshitt checkpoints.

I've had to work with a lot of cops "on the Job"
the minority are ok
a good many I've worked with "on the Job" have some sort of attitude problem

Even my sister tells me that she's had to shake her head & walk away from many officers who have an attitude problem, make things worse on the smallest issues(like a seatbelt ticket and the dude is upset)-and she doesn't want to be called to the grand jury when joe citizen knocks the **** outta some loudmouth cop who is overstepping his/her bounds because they wear a shield & have an attitude.
I swear-if ALL cops were like my sister, there'd be alot more people who dont have a problem with them on ANY front or format.
She's level headed,Firm, Fair & Consistent~and thats a trait that she seems to come by pretty easily.
She's often told me of officers that she REFUSES to work with(in years past) but now that she's a Lieutenant and a supervisory Officer-she gets to put these "loose cannons" in their place when they make trouble of nothing significant or when it's Not necessary or called for.
Human nature being what it is.....
Give a *****/COWARD/BULLY some authority-and they will abuse it.

there are AZZHATS in Fire, EMS, Medical, and all walks of life
A number of people do not know how to handle power/responsibility those are the ones that stick out the most
the ones that do the job and keep on walking are the ones you never see or know about
They are the ones like your sister, she does the job and shines the AZZHATS on or puts them on some **** detail till they disappear

MOTORCYCLE ONLY CHECKPOINTS RULED
LEGAL IN NEW YORK COURT CHALLENGE
The Federal Court in New York last month issued a ruling on a case which has pitted New York motorcyclists against the State Police and their use of the "Motorcycle Only" checkpoints.
In terms of background, in 2008, the New York State Police decided to implement checkpoints that targeted motorcycles only and in the areas of and at same time as some of the biggest motorcycle rallies in the state.
The statistics from these checkpoints are staggering:
- 5,342 motorcycles passed through 17 checkpoints in 2008.
- Authorities inspected 2,278 of those vehicles.
- They made four criminal arrests
- They issued 1,064 tickets
- 365 for helmet violations
- 99 for other safety violations
- 600 for non-safety violations.
