What? You think that there's a "brotherhood" here just because we all ride Harleys?? That's pretty naive, don't you think? I don't know OP from Adam and certainly don't consider him a brother. I base my comments & opinions on the person and his/her actions. NOT by the kind of bike he rides. Personally, I wouldn't ride with ANY drinking-&riding law breaker - HD or not.
Wow! Isn't nice that we are a brotherhood. I would hate to have the metric riders post here. Then it would really get nasty.

If you were being a good guy and packing out your trash, why wasn't the can already crushed? I'm not crazy about overzealous cops either, but I don't hear any concern about bringing unwanted attention to the others that were with you. If you're just gonna whine, you should get a Honda.

Umm, this is a PUBLIC forum, my friend and those are MY opinions. Additionally, I'm pretty sure that OP called names (Barney Fife) AND lectured (I'll call it "lecturing", when in reality it was whining) in his initial post, so... suck it up and deal with it. Well, unless your a drinkin'-&-ridin' whiner who doesn't have the ***** to take his medicine too? Are you??
I'm not gonna hold back my opinion/s here. OP opened the door, I just happened to be the first one who BLASTED through it.
You see, after all of this, OP is STILL trying to blame someone else. Who gives a ***** how long it took the ranger to get to you? You broke the law, my friend - aint no 2 ways about it. As for the guy obviously disliking bikers - are you serious? Was he up everyone's *** or just yours for having an open container?? Cuz, you didn't mention him hassling the other bikers who were with you. So, maybe he just dislikes law-breaking bikers...

No citation was issued. The facts of the case are, in reality, unknown to you. Yet you delight on calling the OP a liar and you insist that the OP is a criminal and should pay for what he did. I seriously hope that you are not a judge or an attorney. And if you are an LEO, may God help all those with whom you come into contact. Because in your mind, everyone is a liar and only you know the truth. Yeah.....right.

OK... a mildly entertaining thread...I am surprised at the reactions. I almost stopped reading after the first reply.
Being cited for an empty open container? You're kidding. Read the legal definition for your state - wouldn't apply here unless he was seated on his motorcycle.
If you drink or not, that's your business. But, if you do, tell me you've never had a drink anywhere but in your house. Never been to a bar or had a drink at the restaurant?
I'm not advocating drinking and riding, but every state has established limits as to when they consider someone to be impaired. None of them are zero.
I'd choose not to ride with some of you just because your panties are too tight.

OP stated all the facts that he wanted us to know. My opinion/s are well within the realm of possibility, based on what he told us. Seriously, it wasn't that hard for other logically thinking forum members (who don't have an aversion to authority) to arrive at the same conclusions.
