You don't know if he was drinking or not, maybe he picked up the can off the ground intending to throw it away and never found a good place. So please think be for you make yourself out to be an a$$
This is actually a good point. Many Wisconsin rest stops and parks do not have trash containers, and the expectation is that you take your trash with you. Also, it may not even have been his beer. It could have been a passenger's or someone elses. Who knows, maybe he was being a good citizen and picked up a can that he found in the parking lot at his "last stop" and was going to throw it away. I'm thinking that if I had to carry my trash out from the last park I was at, there's a pretty good chance it would find a resting place in the trash can at the next gas stop.

no,that was my can from a previous stop and these people that think haveing one beer every two or three hours makes you a drunk on the road should have there man card revoked.
i do however get a kick out of all the ASSanign comments from the peanut gallery.oh my god he had a beer, line him up and take aim boy's.get a life you losers.
Why anyone would operate a motor vehicle and drink alcohol (regardless of the amount) is beyond me. Having a beer can in your hand while next to your vehicle is enough to give any cop a reason to look your way. You can be upset all you want, but it seems to me you set yourself up for this.

I'll take exception to this one. Not drinking and riding does not make me a loser, nor does it void my man card. That's my Assanign ( or did you mean assinine?) comment from the peanut gallery. I'm not siding with the Leo or with you but I will say this....I don't ride with people who drink and ride. If you want to, no problem, have at it. Just don't ask me to ride with you. I will have an adult beverage after riding once I'm stopped for the night. Probably several but you can rest assured my bike or car will not be driven after drinking.
Prudish or a loser you say...no just someone whose father was killed by someone who thought he was ok to drive.

Why dont you COME GET MY MAN CARD!! BOY!! If you think your a big man cause you can drink a beer and ride, drink you a few and come down and take my man card away ALICE!!

And THERE we have the crux of MY beef with OP.
As for the comments about turning in our "man card", since OP refuses to take his medicine (pay the fine he rightfully deserved to get) it seems like OP should do the same and turn in his.
If you're man enough to do the crime, then don't try to sissy your way out of it when you get caught!
