Those Chippewa Rally boots are nice. I've been trying to find a pair in stock somewhere to check them out.

Double H. I have a pair of the steel toes going on 4 years old, they look almost new except for sole wear.

I have a pair of Chippewa 17" engineer boots that are going on 30 years old. I can't say they are the most comfortable boot to walk around in, but they are great while on the bike. And, obviously, the leather is darn good. It's their 3rd set of soles.

The did not care fo the last brand I had.
I have tried on some other brands that didn't fit me right.
I am looking at Double H (6102) and Chippewa (97863).

Is one better than the other?

I have had a Double H brand boot before so I sure the fit would be ok.
I have no experience with Chippewa brand.

Opinions and Comments?

Been wearing the Chippewas for years. Great boots. Comfy for walking as well as riding & you can send them in to be refurbished if need be.

I love my chippewa boots. They are not engineer, but I prefer the extra support provided by this style. They have been extremely comfortable since day one and required no break in period.

Redwing steel toed engineer boots have been good to me over the years, went back to have them put new sole inserts in and now they feel like whole new boots again. Give them a look.

Danner rules in my book. Give them a look. They are expensive but worth every penny since they are on my feet every day. I wear the uninsulated Acadia boot in hot weather, either in black or the desert tan suede. In cold weather the Fort Lewis has 600G of thinsulate and are completely waterproof. Made in Portland, OR by American craftsmen.

Dam expensive unless you catch them on sale like I did, but the damn things won't wear out.

Seems the OP asked about engineer boots. I've worn nothing but Red Wing's version since I was a kid on a Yamaha, probably going on 50 years now. But they make them in China these days and they aren't very good. I've kept the ones I bought 15 years ago in as good a shape as I can.

A good pair of engineer boots are some of the most comfortable footwear you can buy and there's a reason bikers wore them almost exclusively for many, many years -- they work.

Chippewa's have always been well regarded. i don't like lace-up boots on a bike and I especially don't buy any boots made in China. It's hard enough giving up 40 bucks to China for running shoes. Red Wing above, the Chips below. Real boots...
