Another vote for the Wesco boots.

Best money I've ever spent...

Until you pony up the cash and invest in these boots you really don't know what a good fitting boot is.

Yea, I too thought my Red Wings and the Chippewa were good. I was mistaken. Never again, will I wear an off the shelf boot.

I find it odd that some of you will spend 3-5 hundred dollars for a set of "cool" looking pipes for your bike but won't spend the same amount on yourself. Money is no object when it comes to looks, performance or the fancy GPS unit but spend the money on something for yourself that no one will notice but yourself, God Forbid...

Again, you will not know comfort until you pay for it...

Just my two cents worth...

i don't entirely disagree with you but i really don't spend a ton of money blinging out my bike, i did buy a used set of pipes and defect wild 1 bars.

i rode a cadillac, amazing comfort but unfortunately i can't afford a caddilac no matter how comfortable it is.

you said you won't buy off the rack which i assume means you bought custom wesco to the tune of $700+. that's a chunk of change the vast majority of people just can't afford.

the OP isn't just concerned with price either, if he were he would be buying cheap chinese junk off the online megastore.

thanks i love this bike...

yeah i didn't know what that was about, i'm guessing some point in the past i said something about the price of wesco boots and it ruffled his feathers, but i honestly have no memory of him at all, it kind of took me by surprise, especially since my original statement was hardly a "bashing" of wesco boots.

I wear them a lot, it's my most used footwear, and they still look and feel great.

I also have two pairs of this boot. Right now I'm wearing the oldest pair that are 10 years old. I've had them resoled with a heavy lug vibram sole and IMHO they are almost the perfect riding boot. If they were steel toed, they would be perfect. I also have a pair Georgia loggers for when I want a laced boot. I've also had them for 12 years now.

You should not assume that I spent 700+ as you are wrong...

Custom fit Boss boots with knife pocket. $481 and change.

Order them at Sturgis and you get the measurement for free.... Measured by the guy who is going to build your boots.

If you can afford a Harley and you take good care of it, you can afford Wesco boots...

Did I say they also give you a quality tee shirt... hehehe

okay, i'm gonna do it. harley has the 14inch trail boss engineer boot (yes, i know its made by wolverine). normally, i don't wear hd boots, they hurt my feet, but these are actually comfortable. and they are a good looking boot as well. not a lot of the hd bling, nailed, stapled or screwed onto the boot. msrp is $160, i got mine for $106 shipped.

For off the shelf I like Red Wings. As another poster said, if you can afford custom made, go for it.

You know, boots are like tools.... You can go out and buy a tool for a lesser price that will get the job done but that tool won't last you. It won't give you the best cut, it will cut good enough but there are tools that will give you a perfect cut but they will cost you and the price is reflected in the years of service it gives you...

Its like a Black and Decker circular saw compared to a worm drive Skilsaw and if you have not used both you just won't understand.

kind of like, if I have to explain it you won't understand it... heheeh

Obviously, you have the money to buy the "best" of everything. Can you see the ground under that up-raised nose? Sheesh.
