I wear the Field Armor boots by Icon. $125, more protection than most. That's what riding boots are about, not looks or hiking.

Custom fit Boss boots with knife pocket. $481 and change.

Order them at Sturgis and you get the measurement for free.... Measured by the guy who is going to build your boots.

If you can afford a Harley and you take good care of it, you can afford Wesco boots...

Did I say they also give you a quality tee shirt... hehehe
so all i have to do is drive to sturgis spend hundreds on food and gas and i can get the $99 measurement for free? what a bargain.... seriously though i've done the "build a boot" at wesco many times, and my boots are always well over $700 and i'm not getting that much customization.

i paid cash for my bike for under 10 K used, and do all my own work on it, whether i can "afford it" is up for debate, my wife would probably say no we can't, but i am not selling it.

look i don't begrudge anyone who has the money to burn on custom boots or clothes, it's a nice boot sure, but for most dudes it's not an option.

Red Wings -- the USA real ones -- aren't all that cheap. I paid close to $400 for mine in Tokyo, an admittedly expensive town. I think they are the best looking of the lot and mine are extremely comfortable. I'll look into Wesco boots when these wear out. might be a while though.

I've been shopping for some American-made engineer boots as well. Only the 17" high-shine Chippewa boots appear to be lined. The other Chippewas, as well as Double-H, Carolina and even the Wesco appear to be unlined. I'm sure as long as the vamp is lined, there shouldn't be any dye bleedthrough onto socks. However, I've seen posts where it can be difficult to get into and out of unlined boots. What's been the experience of long time engineer boot owners?

Been wearing the Danner Ft. Lewis for about 6 years. 100% waterproof and more comfortable than any boot (any shoe except one favorite one with the swoosh on it...) I have ever worn. Nothing else compares..

$28 dollar walmart brahmas. Ok I did finally spring for a set of waterproof boots.. tried on about 15 boots. Liked the Aria (sp) waterproof riding boot, looks like the engineer boot (don't care one way or the other about that though). feels good on my feet and they stay dry.
