A quote on a Marine Base / Cherry Point entrance sign sums it up. "Excuse are noise but it is the sound of freedom."

When I was doing my big bore, etc. on my bike, I buttoned it up at around 2am. I was a bit eager to start it, so I popped open the garage door, and tried to fire it up. I had not properly adjusted the front cylinder exhaust push rod (slightly open, not enough to damage anything), and the bike didn't run right, big backfire of gas in the pipes really loud.

I shut it down and waited till daylight to futz with it.

Saw my neighbor, and he mentioned he heard me trying to get the bike started. I began to apologize, but he stopped me to ask if I had gotten it straightened out! He was not mad in the least. Really a cool guy.

Got the sign in Jville too..

They do get a little loud sometimes flying over my place, 23 miles out of town. Not as loud as those Jets out of Seymour Johnson though.

i've pushed my bike down the road a couple times when i needed to start it at like 3:00 AM but not because anyone told me too. other than that i don't care. my neighbors have screaming kids, barking dogs, lawn mowers and power tools going all weekend i don't make a stink, but the 30 seconds you hear my bike is a big deal? i'm getting a f*cking vein pulsing in my forehead just writing this.

He had to leave it off property while he fought it in court (about 18 months) and won because they have to grandfather him in since he was an existing owner when they passed the resolution. He used to be really considerate before but now he does not even try and parks it as close as he can to the complainers condo. The guy lost his position with the HOA because of all the money they lost paying all the lawyers. What a waste.

As a sec of a HOA is takes the whole board to pass any changes, not just the Pres... and even then they should contact the HO Management group who should know the laws or contact a lawyer to make sure they don't cross over into law suit issues.. as stated above...

It can happen real easy when trying to change the policy's of the HOA's.

Not to threadjack but I found those signs amusing . I toured Europe on a harley back in 88 before the Iron Curtain fell and it was still very heavily militarized . Sitting in this little mom & pop place in Germany one morning when a heavy mechanized convoy came by loud as hell everything vibrating and dust falling from the ceiling and this old german woman calmly walking around putting things back and dusting like nothing happened . So I asked her if that happened often and how did she put up with all the noise . Her reply " Those are no problem Russian tanks are much louder ." suddenly dawned on me she was old enough to have been around and seen that first hand , sobering to say the least .

i caught a break and there are at least 10 people on our street alone that have bikes and i work a night shift and get home around 12 in the morning and later. Granted this is this one who drives up and down the street at like 3 in the morning in a c5 corvette with straight pipes flooring the **** out of it.
