Ive knocked on some ladies driver window before because she decided to pull up next to me, when she looked I just kicked her mirror really hard, grinned, waved and rode off.

Well, most of the people around here will carry ball bearings/marbles to get the idjit's attention. Personally I don't want to risk damaging the other's vehicle and either a. having to pay for damages; b. pissing the guy off and having him chase me down (900lbs vs 2500+ tell me who's gonna win *that* one)

I'll generally resort to hand gestures (go around or back off...not f**k off<g&gt, changing my speed/position to allow them by if possible. But, if the person behind me is stuck on stupid I do have a pocketfull of RJ45 plugs to bounce off the guy's windshield. Makes a nice "SNAP" sound, but, really doubt it's going to do any damage...they pretty much explode on impact. A lit smoke works well for that too at night, but, that's a waste of $0.35 when you can buy a big box of RJ45 plugs for around $2.00.

Wolf, probably not the best answer, but it gets thier attention back on the road where it belongs.

Just remember one thing , those people in the cages might have a gun . So if you try to do something stupid .......think twice . Just leave it alone and get away from them. Let them tailgate someone else.

Agree with you! Whatever it takes, just get apart from them if they won't heed the drop back or go around signal.

Decade or more ago, seems that all cagers who weren't driving right would always shape up & it embarrassed them if they had to be waved off. Now, they just flippin do not care... won't accept that they are doing something dangerous. Even Moms-in-Minivans are turning into CellPhone Headed jerks.

Law enforcement of dangerous driving has disappeared in many jurisdictions.

What is the macro solution going to be???

excellent. we have established that noone here is afraid of women.

man, where do i get that harley tattoo again?

enough ribbing i suppose, though. heres the real answer:

tailgaters are easy to deal with. use the throttle for something other than making noise at a stoplight, and stop being a pylon in the road.

its a bike, it should out accellerate everything on the road but other bikes, and the occasional ferrarri or high end porsche.

if you are compelled to drag tail on the road, let em pass. less ego, more happyness.

as a last resort if you have someone who wants to tailget YOU in particular, lanesplit around the car in front of you and use them as a blocker. now i realise for many of you, lanesplitting is illegal, but so is speeding and lots of other things people do everyday. your first priority is to survive traffic.

for those of you in california, you especially have no excuse. traffic is a tool you can use.

I just let them pass. Same with rice burners as well. They seem to have a problem keeping their bikes under 150!

I have the backoff modue on my brake lights. I tough my hand brake and the lights come on and flash when they get to close. They usually back of or get tired of the flashing and go around. Best $29.00 I ever spent.

Module is from www.signaldynamics.com. If that dosn't work I let them have it with 2 m1911's full clips.
Just joking about the guns.

Cary a couple of marbles or better yet golf *****. When the cager stays too close even after you've flashed your brake light drop (don't throw) a golf ball on the road. It will bounce at the offending vehicle and they will be thinking, "damn, that Harley is falling apart, I better back off". If they don't get it the first time drop another.

I've done this a few times and found it works very well.

I just added the back off module and a 6" LED light bar and it seems to work for getting their attention. I just touch the front brake and the LED starts blinking and they do seem to back off a bit...
