Are you talking 29 north of 680? If so, how many miles would you estimate?
I90 runs east and west in SD.

Couldn't find it again, but I know someone on here was talking about just coming back through Sturgis, and said that I 90 was a mess. Found this link that shows where the construction is. Hope it helps.

I realize 90 runs east & west, but since this thread is about the condition of 29 that's what I thought you were talking about.
P.S. It looks like half of SD roads are being worked on this summer, pretty hard to avoid it!
My suggestion is if your coming from the east is to hit I90, either take I35 north and cut over at Albert Lea or take I80 to Iowa City, north on I380 to Waterloo and then cut over to I35 (following the Ave of the Saints signs) to Albert Lea. I would steer clear of the heat wave in OK and southern KS. It's been over 100 for most of July with no end in sight. Plus if it does happen to cool down this is the time of year that the humidity starts rolling in so it feels even hotter. Just my two cents.
I was just there the week of July 4th and there is alot of construction on I 90 . Most
of it was east bound. And the ground surface was a mother. I think you get the picture.
Update: The Sioux Falls area got 6+ inches of additional rain two nights ago, all flowing toward the Missouri. The Big Sioux River is right up to the top of its banks. Additional road closures are expected along the I29 corridor. Currently in a flash flood watch. The Sioux City area is catching it right now as I type.
Guys just thought I'ld post up what I found out today:
1. I called the Springfield MO chamber of commerce: no flooding issues whatsoever
2. Kansas City, KS chamber of commerce: all major highways are open(which contradicts what the tourism webpage says for their area
3. Wichita Chamber of Commerce: no issues whatsoever
4. Lincoln NE Chamber of Commerce: Hwy 2 east of Nebraska City is closed due to flooding. I actually talked to come who works in Lincoln but lives in Nebraska City. He said Hwy 2 is open from Nebraska City heading west. I am either going to get on 2 just outside of Nebraska city or join it in Lincoln.
