Back from Tenn.
Just got back from Tennessee after a week stay. First day out
there we had to do the Dragon. I didn't realize a sport bike could
sneak up on me like that. About made me **** my pants. And
I can't believe all the Porshe on that road. After that we hit the
Cherohala Skyway, now that was a ride! We headed back to the
cabin and went through Foothills Parkway. You folks in East Tenn.
have got some cool rides. I thought we had hills here in Missouri,
nothing like coming around a bend and seeing a valley a few thousand
feet below. That tended to slow me down a bit. A day later we drove
up the mountains in Smokey Mountain National Park. We went through
the clouds at the top. Great ride, but took it easy because of ice
warnings. From there we took Blue Ridge Parkway, I can't belive
people live that high up on the mountain near the Cherekee reservation.
Would make a great get away cabin. I'll post pictures when I get them
sorted out. Oh......Hogs and Honey in Galtinburg was a great place
for a cold one.

Sounds like you ahd a great time. We have a lot of roads like that here in southern califonia too. They are a blast. If you ever come out here check out Angeles crest highway, windy and high above endless valleys of forest...Very cool...There are a lot more roads that are great as well, but your desription reminded me of Angeles Crest...

Yeah, those rockets sneak up on you.......they are fun to watch though. Not my cup of tea to try that kinda thing.

sounds like you had a good time,,, those very roads are on my "To Do" list,,, soon I'm hoping,
maybe you should try Northern NY,,, Adirondak Mts. are cool,,, specially Lake Placid,(1980 olympics) is awsome

Sounds like a wonderfull trip. The Smokeys are wonderfull, got to be a fun place for a ride. I have done it by car but never by bike. Something to look forward to in the future.
Come see Oregon some time and ride up Mt Hood to Timberline Ski Resort. It will take your breath away. Beautiful country we all have to enjoy.
