i have a 97 f150 4x4.uhaul said my truck is too small to tow a car trailer with a 90 lincoln continental(fwd v6 ford taurus) ..what they are doing is trying to get you to rent their truck..double the cost.they wanted me to rent their chevy c1500 2x4 in addition to the trailer
Pretty soon we're going have a country full of " Sorry can't get there from here " with all the corp. cover your *** going on and sue happy litigators .
*** GM and anything to do with that company or their products
I have seen craigslist trailers for under 500 all day long. Nice trailers. You could always drop the cash for one, use it and resell it once your done for what you got it for.
Rented a uhaul car trailer once, that thing was the worse trailer I ever hauled with!
It was so short that it swayed all over the place over 50! Guess that's why they put the speed limit on them! haha
From: Dallas, TX & Santa Fe, NM when I can find the time....
I recommend checking with all trailer sales places in your area to see if any of them rent...or call a Dealer and speak with the service guys...they'll likely know who, if anyone, you can call. I did that a couple of years ago as we needed a way to haul 3 bikes and found an open trailer to rent at a place that sells trailers...would've never thought of that myself.
Oh yeah...I was at a place (don't remember if it was Penske or Ryder) once buying boxes. Started speaking with the owner who used to rent U-Hauls after a woman came in complaining about a U-Haul truck shed rented. He told me U-Haul is HORRIBLE about maintenance and he got so tired of feeling guilty about renting unsafe vehicles, he went another route. I wasn't renting so he had no real reason to try and sell me on his rentals.
