Well If all goes well I may be doing a title swap for this or next week. Its an 07 denim silver. Got some sweet RSD wheels with new rubber, calipers, and rotors. I think it will be a good platform to start with. I know mine is worth probably 3k more than this scoot. HOWEVER the only value that matters is what your or the other is willing to pay. Maybe its my A.D.D that keeps me from keeping them after im done with my customization (I DON'T KNOW). Some have OCD, I have ADD.

Nice bike! I just saw it on craigslist tonight! Should be a fairly easy sale or trade.

Really $$$$$ don't seem to be an issue for U..

Why not just pick up a newer low mile SG and do Ur thing, that way U can keep the SEFB.. Then U could switch back and forth. At least U wont loose U A$$ by selling it..

I dunno;I think that rake may've hurt your resale value. Try trading it in, I would think.

I would love to have an extra $17,000-$19,000. That way I could have both. But I dont have the patience to save up for a yr to get it. Like I said though Im NOT financing a bike. ESP when I got one paid for to barter with.

And the rake has killed the value. But no one gets there money back on there bike cause of what they have done. That is usually just money you sacrifice.

I have found out that the value of things on paper is meaningless. Its only true value is what someone will give you. Lets face it. Most us buy bikes with intentions of doing our own thing and mine is about capped out.

Your bike looks awesome. I was just wondering if you raked the neck or added all that rake with the tripple trees.
No offence intended, but any bike I've seen with that much rake that was only raked by the trees, handled like a shopping cart. You usually end up with negative trail.
It sure looks great though.

It actually handles great. The kit corrects the trail. I can ride hands free from 90-10 mph. No flop. It took about 2 parking lots to get the feel. It is a kit from AME (German manufactured Quality standards are twice of USA). It is a complete set-up. Trees forks and it actually moves the pivot point up. Google there site. there are triple trees avail in the slightest to most extreme.

However as of tomorrow I will be the proud owner of the SG up top.

I had the same dilemma, in the end I went from this

to this

I'd spent a fortune on the softail but at the end of the day you lose pretty much all of the value of the extras. That's why this time I went down the CVO route. I'm told that the CVO's keep their value for much longer and I'll only need to make some small changes to get it where I want it!

PS - Loving the Street Glide! Can't imagine ever going back to a softail. For all day rides and multi day trips - the Street Glide is the dogs bollocks!

With all the things I like (motorcycles, guns and guitars), the add-on and custom parts add nothing to the value when you try to trade it and may help or hurt to sell it. Unless you find somebody who really likes what you built, the best way to get your money back may be to return the bike to as close to stock as possible, sell it, then sell the extra parts separately.

One thing Harley knows is that everybody wants it a little different, so a bikle gets harder to sell the more you customize it and add to the price.

This is true. I took a hit in the wallet however I got what I wanted. She is in the garage now meeting her roommate (Wife's Trike). Only complaint is that it dont have Cruise. And from what I have read 07 is the worse year to get it added, due to discontinued parts.
