Default Really wanting a sg.

Well I feel like a bike *****. I have a bike for a yr or 2 and then decide i want something new. Problem is I really blew my wad on my current bike. I currently have a 06 Screaming Eagle Fatty. Done a boat load of custom work to it. Now I have nothing else I want to do to it, AND I am wanting a StreetGlide to customize. The bike is absolutely amazing and turns heads EVERYWERE i go. Would I be better off selling it out right, trading it in, Or trying to make a trade for a SG? I know my bike KBB trade in is right at $15,000. Retail is at $19,000. That is not including all i put in it. I know you never get that back. But I still have all factory frontend equip to go along with it so it should count for something. Here is a pic for reference. Any advise?

Completely bad ***. I would see if you could do a straight trade somewhere... your bike is definitely worth just as much dollar wise if not more.

No wonder it turns heads every where you go, that is a totally sicko bike. Great job customizing it. If & when you get a Street Glide, what do you have in mind to do to it? Are you planning on raking it out also? I would sell it privately.

Considered just a small rake, Not this extreme. Mostly looking to just go air ride, extend bags and fenders and tank, maybe 23" front tire. Really wanting a slammer but have the touring ability with a crazy sound system. I also have plans to go for the 120R. All in all just decide as I go. The Wife has a trike and i have Stereo envy. Brother and father have ultras. I just want a ride that is more MILE friendly. I have taken this one on 300 mile ride and it really works on you with the SE seat being so thin.
The creation of my own keeps me interested. I feel I have maxed this out. I could do a 250 from heartland but not wanting to commit that when I am craving the Streetglide. I have alway liked them.

Yeah, if you want to do any longer trips & need room for some of your stuff, a bagger is the only way to fly, comfort & convenience, & sounds. Like you said, looks like yours in maxed out. Doing the SG should keep your interest pegged for a couple years I would think, then what next?

I completely understand. I like going on long rides, I think my longest time wise has been 5 hours straight.. and I felt pretty fine on my Sportster. I'm gonna add mini apes soon for added comfort. I really like the small, quick, agile bike I have now, so why should I have to trade my performance for comfort? I think aside from that, I don't like how I can't see the ground in front of me on the SG (which also happens to be my favorite touring model, I guess it's a popular choice) and all I have are the gauges.

Oh yeah, and they don't make the SG in White Hot Denim anymore.. that color was beautiful and I would've traded my 883 for it in a heartbeat just because of the color. Pretty upset about that

I have a 74 FL Chassis that I will start one day (After the SG). Plan on making it a ridged rat bike. Only the requirements to make it legal here in Ga. But I also want the power thats why the 120R plus it just sounds sick. Hard to get that with the shovel I plan on putting on the Rat. The Fatty I have now has 104hp 104tq and thats just a heavy breather and a dyno tune with the tts. Had I kept the 2-1 pro-pipe on it It would have been closer to 115 in torque. This baby has umph. But I plan on the SG having it as well.

It is payed for. Traded my Street Bob in and dropped the rest in cash. I am not one who likes to finance toys. Wife said to just buy another but that may take 8-9 months. I am wanting to hit blue ridge and the mountains this OCT. thats about a 600 mile trip. not really wanting to make that. BUT I WILL.

Put it up for sale for what you put into it, and do not budge! At the same time, buy the new bike & then you have a choice of which bikes to ride.... It's what I did...
