I wear a Tour Master Air Intake. It's mesh with armor in the shoulder, elbows and back. It's made for riding and fits well. It also has a waterproof and quilted liners which make it usable in the winter down to the mid 30's. I know you were not asking for alternatives, but I like my purchase. I got the white striped which also has reflective piping.
I have the same mesh jacket and like it alot. Ventilates VERY well in hot weather, almost like a tshirt level of coolness yet far more protection.
In winter I have a Tourmaster heavy textile armored winter jacket for when it's REALLY cold or wet weather is possible. Otherwise it's my Fox Creek leather Classic about 90% of the time which is actually plenty warm most of the winter here where I live from upper 30's temps and up. Below that it's the Textile Tourmaster.
Armor is definitely smart if you don't mind breaking from the herd as far as traditional riding attire for the H-D crowd.
All black attire is not smart at nite. If that bike goes down you're laying on the pavement dressed in black - ready to be run over by the next car behind you if he doesnt see you.
I wear a white helmet all the time now for exactly this reason. At least something that stands out. Even in daytime look at a guy who's wearing a white helmet, it stands out even at a distance surprisingly well. Being seen is the key to staying alive.
