For those that do their own work, do you go to the HD parts counter and get your fluids and filters or go to the auto parts store?? I have a 20K coming up in a month or 2. I think its tranny, primary, engine oil and filter, etc...
I've found throughout that the service agents at the Auto-parts store are fairly more knowledgeable & helpful than the service counter at the dealership. I usually go to the same one, Auto-parts store, but I live in a pretty small, bigger town & the same reps usually keep their jobs longer & attempt to keep it personal.
I'd like to see more people taking their bikes into their own hands , maybe the MoCo will wake up and realize the buying public has enough price gouging and get real about like the rest of the world is coming to grips with .
What's the avg price per hour at a dealer car/truck service center?
HD is in line with those who take their vehicles in instead of doing it themselves.
You'll save quite a bit over the life of the bike doing it yourself.
Just did an oil change on mine recently. Got the filter and o-ring at the dealer, the Mobil 1 v-twin at Walmart and filter wrench at the auto parts store.
