Most Comfortable Bike HD makes (That you've ridden)
Of all the bikes you have ridden which one is the absolute most comfortable...
Ok, I know this question has been approached probably several different ways, but humor me if you will please fellas. My husband and i are preparing to both get new bikes. Now we are both riding Wide Glides (him a 2010, me 2004). Maybe we are candy asses or whatever, but neither of us like how comfortable we are on our respective rides. Since we will be doing a significant amount of touring, we want something that when we get off of it at the end of a 400-600 mile day, we won't feel like we've been beat to death. Thanks in advance.
I have a 2011 XL1200C that I can only ride for 30 min straight before my *** hurts! I also have an 04 Electra I can go a few hours without stopping. Monday I went 350 miles just tooling around! Only stopped twice, once for an hour and a half to watch the Packers practice and then once for gas for ten min.
Ultra Classic: most comfortable and best protection from air flow.
Road Glide: most comfortable, good air flow protection, better at handling cross winds/gusts.
Road King: most comfortable, shield provides some air flow relief. best for cross winds/gusts.
Ive only ridden a few Harley,s the iron , 48 , nightster , fat boy , fat bob & street bob , but no baggers .
i really like my fat bob , but its no tourer , the seat is nice and soft and the springs are about right for me as well , so i don't need to upgrade anything and at 70 mph or so , i can run the tank dry and still feel comfy
i like the position of the forwards and T bars , it just seems to suit me , if i were doing a lot of miles though I'm sure theres better bikes out there , but none that look as cool IMHO
2004 FLHT with my backrest and sheep skin is the most comfortable I have ever ridden! I'm sure the Ultra has it beat!
My problem as I get older is the weight of the bike plus my hip cramps up! I think this has to do with the cruiser and touring sitting position or just getting older! Highway pegs don't help the cramping!
I've been thinking of down grading to a dual sport to get rid of the weight and get back to the mid peg, straight up higher seat riding position! I don't do long rides but still like to catch a little wind once in awhile!
The most comfortable models for me are the ones that fit me the best: 2010 Road King (that I own) and a 2011 1200 Sportster Low with forward controls (that I rented).
I rode an Ultra Limited last weekend and, based on that, I'd have to say the Softail Deluxe is by far the most comfortable. The Road Kings and Electra Glides put my knees up around my chest - maybe if they had some extended reach controls or something.
