Take a look at some gauntlet gloves - when it gets cold, having the glove go over your jacket cuff does more to keep you warm than any insulation in the glove.

Amen, brother. That's why I just ordered the Fox Creek gauntlet style. They appear to have a sizable guantlet. My old ones, brand unknown, wore out and I received some H-D brand as a replacement, but the guantlets are so small in diameter that they will actually go quite comfortably INSIDE some of the sleeves on my jackets. Not exactly what I'm looking for in this style of glove. The open end would be about right for a ten year-old kid.

Default Cold Weather Riding

It is still August, but the cooler New England mornings have me thinking. I bought the bike back in April and the morning temps were just over 30 degrees. I tried to wear a face mask, then a bandana to protect my face, but my sunglasses fogged up with every exhale so I never made it out of the driveway. Does anyone have any advice to prevent this?

Damn, I meant to start this as a new thread.

Ditton on Fox Creek leather. I wear the elkskin gloves and they're surprisingly warm down into the 40's temps easily even at freeway speeds. I wore them all last winter and wasn't cold. If you get to 40 or below you'll want something warmer.

Elkskin is great and tough as hell. They survived surfing the pavement at 70 mph with no problem a few years back.

Okay, it was officially cool here this morning. Something like 65 degrees when I left. (I know, but when it's been over 100 degrees, and closer to 110 degree, since the end of June, 65 is freakin "cold".) Those mechanix gloves aren't gonna get it much longer. I'll have to check into those Fox Creek gloves.

HD or any brand non insulated chopper gloves keeps the wind from blowin up your arms. Been great for me til the temp gets down there. I only have a short ride though 15minutes +/-

FF helmet and learn to control your breathing better till you get moving - or stick a piece of duct tape over the bridge of your nose...............it works but I haven't done that in years, old school fall racer trick.

check REI. I found a lightweight pair last year for $28.00, goatskin, light insulation, good dexterity. couldn't ask for better.

iCon has some pretty good ones that aren't too bulky, but not real thin either.
