My wife always asks me for a X-mas wish list about this time of the year. Top of this years list was (note: "was") a Sundowner Solo seat for my Road King Classic. Though the seat cost a little more than those made by other companies, we were willing to go along and spend the extra money since the seat matches up well with the saddle bags.
The suggested retail for the seat is $289. Not bad, I thought...we can live with the price. Last night while leafing through the HD accessory catalog I found out that if I bought a HARLEY DAVIDSON SEAT for my HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYLE that it would not fit on the bike unless I also bought a SOLO SEAT HARDWARE KIT for an additional $59!
So instead of being willing to spend a little bit more for the seat I found out that I have spend a lot more for the seat and hardware kit.
Why do I feel violated by the company? If MUSTANG doesn't require a hardware kit so their seat can fit on a HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE, why must the HD Motorcycle Company insult the intelligence of its loyal customers?
Yes, I'm pissed about this. I've been very loyal to the company buying alot of their accessories though I could have saved money with other brands. Not any longer![:@]
Sorry, but I had to vent to somebody and since there are 20,000 of you here, I knew that one or two would read this.
Yup, I'm one of the members that read this and I understand your position. I also don't understand why they do what they do, but they sure do it, don't they?
You best watch your comments. Zukeeper and jackj will be on your case for bad-mouthing seats. You'll be forced to get a medical examination, sell your Harley and do something else.
You know Harley is going to get their money but what they don't realize is that when they nickel and dime us, we start to shop around. Good for those aftermarket companies, bad for Harley.
I just bought an Ultra Classic. It only came with one intercom headset. Where's the logic?? The second one will cost 179.00 IF I decide to get it. I think I'll check eBay for that.

I bought the touring passanger pillion for my Deluxe. And what got me was I had to take the mounting hardward off of my old seat. They couldn't spend the 10 cents it would have cost them to put hardware on the new seat??
Well I see you have Rider Floor boards you should have new then what your saying Now
Floor boards 100 (i think)
Harware 80 (i think)
adaptor kit 100 (i think) I'm a bit tore up rt now but you know what I'm sayin
