Hello my bike is hard to start so finally took it to the dealer and he said it was the pcIII usb fighting with the ecm after 2 to 3 years he said they all screw up and you have to go back stock to correct it now he says I should buy the super tuner and be done with it what is you guys opinion of the super tuner at 460.00 on a stock Dyna with V&H slip ons and a K&N Breather ?
I say they're blowing smoke just to sell you something. I would NEVER buy a tuner that the dealer offers (tho I admit I've never heard of the super tuner) because it's a good bet that only they can set/adjust it. If you want a good set/install it and forget it tuner look into Dynojet's Power Vision or Cobra's FI2000 PowerPro. Both are around the same price that the dealer is quoting you.
the supertuner they are talking about is most likely the se race tuner, which is a very good system to set your bike up with, and anybody (most anybody) with a dyno can use it. its basically an interface with your existing ecu that allows the operator to adjust fuel, ignition. to bring the most hp/torque out of the bike, quite frankly, in my opinion, any tuning system should be done on a dyno, which becomes far more effective, (factoring in the guy running it knows what he's doing!) and efficient way of doing it. or you can spend days riding up and down the street, moving this and that, trying to get something close by yourself
I've got the Screamin' Eagle super tuner on mine, my indy installed it. Once it's set, you remove it...nothing extra is attached to your bike. I can make adjustments with it, or I can take it back to my indy and he can do it. It's not a "dealer only" mod.

Theres nothing wrong with the PCIII and "they all don't screw up".
Take your bike elsewhere. YOu should not have to buy a new unit after 2-3 years. If you do contact the OEM and discuss warrenty.

Well said......................now grab yourself a cold one!
Me thinks the dealer is blowing smoke up your ***. I have had a PCIII on my 06 Heritage for almost 6 years and have never had a bit of trouble with it. It sounds to me they want some of your hard earned money.

Don't believe everything you read on a forum. Everybody's an expert. There's even somebody here who never even heard of a Super Tuner?!! The Super Pro Tuner is pretty commonly used. Ask around. I'd go to the service depts of different dealerships & ask questions before I'd make a decision.
