Called about getting an xr1200 tach and emailed another dealership about switching the nightster to a xr1200 tach/speedometer.
So the first dealer asked just the tach and told me $177 for the part. Oh wow that's cheap I thought most aftermarket tachs (Dakota Digital) are 400ish. Something had to be up.
Well today the dealer where I bought the bike called regarding my email. The guy said he priced it out and my wiring should match up. He said all parts to do it would be around 600 but I could do it I should have no problems with the wiring. Oh that's good. So I said to the guy oh the tach and speedometer are different units? He said yes. Well how much for the tach? $177. But then I need this and that extra part.
Quite frankly I'm not forking down 600 for this project. I figured around $300 or so but wow. I really like the xr1200 style but damn.
Mounting bracket I guess it needs a new one, xr1200's looks a bit different to me judging by pictures. Some gaskets the guy said not sure I understand this for a tach/speedometer. And the speedometer unit I guess?
