Default DYNA SOFTAIL QUESTION

I owned 2 Fat Boys strongly considering a Bob.The Fat Boy was smooth on the high way I know the Bob vibrates at idol more than the Fatty. But on highway speeds or reg street speeds 35 to 85 mph.Which of the 2 are smoother I was told since the Dyna is rubbermounted it would be.I read alot of vibes throught the pegs and grips on the Dyna just need feedback I will be doing normal city riding but also road trips as well mainly solo please help with opinions thx

I ride my Dyna Bob at 75-80 and get no real shaking. It does shake at low speeds and idle, and is more affected by road imperfections (bumps). But it also handles much better. The FatBoy will ride like a tank, soaking up bumps, but moving more ponderously.

I own a 05 Fatboy and my wife has an 06 Street Bob. The soft tails have a counter balanced engine so they are much smoother. Her Dyna is an 88 while my Fatboy is a 95.

Her bike with the 6 speed will kick my bike's ***. That being said the Dyna ran like crap from the dealer and I invested about $1500 to get it right.

Not for nothing I wouldn't trade the Fatboy for anything.

Same story here but I sold my 05 fatboy and got an 07 bagger. My wife's 06 Bob ruined me. What a great bike.

I know everybody loves their own bike. And they should. I have had a Heritage softail, a fatboy and have ridden many others. I wouldn't trade my Bob for anything. I love the speed, handeling and feeling. None of my friends can touch me. It's not even close. And it rides like a dream.

But consider this: I am about 5' 11" and 185 lbs. The bike fits me as if it were custom made for me. Therefore I experience a different fit and feel than other guys that are bigger. Your body size has so much to do with your comfort on a bike that it is hard to get an accurate reccomendation from another person. It has to be right for you.

I have a 2000 FLHTPI. I recently rode a buddy's 07 Springer Classic. The counter-balanced Springer's TC96 was smooth as butter. COULD NOT wait to get back on my rubber mounted TC88...

Posted a thread about this in the touring section a few days back. No one cared LOL

i own a 2005 ann.fatboy brilliant silver 1550 cc with power commander and all the works, etc.i also bought a 2006 fxd and it,s tricked also.i find the fatboy is
more of a fluid ride and less shakey of a ride.but my dyna is very road worhty and hauls butt.handles real good.my fatboy is my first bike i ever owned,i don,t
like to ride it every day.my dyna serves the purpose.if i were you i,d get the bob as a second or third bike.they,re not expensive and are ready for upgrades i highly recommend a dyna.a dinosaur of a bike.
