This is just my opinion, but nothing screams poser more to to me than seeing a "square" wearing a doo rag. By square, I mean short hair.
Wear what you want though to protect your noggin from the sun.
I will rarely wear a ball cap to help keep the sun off my nose and out of my eyes when not riding and walking around a lot.
I don't wear these personally, I use the t shirt sleeve method I described on really hot days. I have stacks of shirt sleeves laying around the garage and shed.
Ha! The Army issued me mine for free - its great for absorbing the sweat, as well as keep it from running into my eyes..you can buy them in any clothing exchange as well for about $10 bucks (skull cap).
