My buddy got a handgun flashed to him in a road rage incident. My buddy got his plate number and called 911. The cops immediately tracked this guy down, arrested him and charged him with felony menacing. My buddy had to go to court and ask the judge to give the guy a break or he would have gone to jail. He was a professional with no criminal record. He got two years probation and anger management, after that time his record would be stripped clean. He could have went to jail for 5 years easy.

Average gun fight they say is 3 shots, 3 seconds and with in 3 feet and a police officer hit rate is 18% according to some ex and current police officer I took a CAR class with/from back in May. If you were armed right and were ready for them is one thing if not then you are the prey. Always have to be ready no matter what. I would have stayed behind them in the first place driving like that and got their plate and called the cops and told them they were drunk.

Many times Ive pulled my gun and had it in hand on my lap, out of site ready to shoot while driving my truck. I’ve also had it in my coat pocket gripping it ready to rock. If something about someone makes me uncomfortable I will do this, what they don't see will not hurt any one if they don't intend to harm me or others. This is completely legal in Colorado. I’m not sure what you Europeans think you know about US citizens and our gun culture but you are almost always wrong.

Are Crackheads good shots?

There cannot ever be legislation along the lines you suggest. Otherwise it would always work out like this:

Let's say I shoot you for no good reason.
Your family tries to sue me, for being a douchebag who shot you for no good reason.
The Judge says "Well, how 'bout it Mr Drifter?"
I reply, "Well your Honour, he said he was going to kill me and then ran up my driveway at me looking all threatening like. I was defending my life and property".
Judge shuffles his papers and says, "Well that's it then. According to the Denny Law, we can't do anything more against you, if that's what you were doing" (and who's going to contradict me? You're dead, remember)
I grin, shake hands with the Judge and bugger off.

No. Don't think that's going to work very well.

Also not a wonderfully reliable source.

I will throw out this, from Wikipedia:
....Like Wikipedia is a reliable source ? ....thou jest Sir EU Drifter.....

You should also check out his other books, "More sex, less kids" and my all time favourite, "How divorcing the bitch can put more cash in your pocket."

No offense but think about what you said... please.
No offense taken Red.. one the great things about livin' in America is we all get to choose.. And trust me, if you think I was kidding, or.. trying to make you laugh, no worries, I won't lose any sleep over it.. Seriously I'm guessing you aren't familiar with Gary Kleck or Jon Lott.. or the studies I mentioned.. maybe even if you were you'd still feel the same.. again, no worries.. But for what it's worth, both men conducted long term studies to try and determine if an "armed" society created more problems than it solves. Kleck, was a professor in Florida, he was at the time a registered Democrat and member of the ACLU. The study he conducted was spurred by the state of Florida passing a concealed carry law. Kleck's prediction was it would result in a bloodbath, especially considering the existing levels crime associated with the drug trade. After just about 3 years of study, what Kleck discovered was, the private ownership of handguns.. prevented.. somewhere in the ball park of 250,000 crimes from ever being committed.. They studied police records, the FBI's uniform crime reports, they interviewed both private citizens and convicted criminals and so on.. the end result of Florida's concealed carry law resulted in a reduction of violent crime.. not an increase. Jon Lott was a criminology professor out of Chicago, he conducted a similar study four years after Kleck's and without going through it all, came to the same conclusions. There are currently, I believe 40 states now with concealed carry laws. In all but one case, the rate of violent crime has gone done with the introduction of concealed carry laws. The bottom line here is.. the facts are what they are.. and most certainly, you don't have to take my word for it. The information is all online and can be verified through the FBI's uniform crime reports as well as crime statistics from the CDC. If you don't buy it.. not a problem.. As for me.. as I stated in my first post, I've been down that road so I have some rather strong and rather bias opinions on the matter of concealed carry and the right to bear arms.. Like I said bro.. we all get to choose.. I respect your thoughts.. I disagree but hey, I still respect them..

In the OP's case.. once again, I think he did the right thing. He was not in a position do much except "escape and evade".. I forget who said it but.. he was totally defense and pushing the fight, I'm guessing wouldn't have gone very well.. back to that.. there are no guarantees in life..

With all that said.. my choice is to be armed.. all the time.. I'm walking proof that.. in at least one instance.. Lott and Kleck got it right..

Cheers and ride safe

He rolled his window down and started yelling somemore, i dont speak spanish but i know it wasnt good. I asked him if they stop for red lights in mexico, which i should have just let it go when i could tell he had either been drinking or high, and this was at eight o'clock in the morning. Next thing i know he slams his center console up and pulls out a pistol. I am not a kid anymore and i see alot of bad sh** at my job done by firearms in the hands of the wrong people but i have to admit i lost control and told him what i thought. I do have a concealed permit but left the lcp at home and had my h&k usp 45 in my saddlebag. this is the problem, i realized carrying in my saddlebag is useless. I need some of yall to tell me how u carry a fullsize frame pistol while riding and can get to it easily and fire while wearing thick cold weather gloves. I know i cant fire my lcp with thick gloves they are just to thick to get in the trigger guard. This situation could have turned out alot worse if i did have my pistol easily accessable but it also could have been worse the way it actually went down. i would never shoot or even pull a gun on anyone unless i felt like my life or my families life was in jeopardy and thats what is bothering me. i honestly feel now that i've calmed down that all he had to do was pull the trigger and game over for me. I dont want to ever feel like someones got the upper hand on me again and will find someway to carry and be able to get to it quick from now on, and suggestions would be very helpful, thanks
OK! So what?

I know some on here have the attitude that if the motherfu*ker screws with me I'll take his *** out. Anyone one here actually "taken his *** out" or just shot someone other than an LEO?
